I can’t say that I’ve struggled with my faith, however, I have struggled with putting my faith first.  Deep down, I’ve always had a connection with God, that until I was a teenager, I couldn’t really pinpoint.

I’ll never forget sitting in church with my dad (who has since passed) trying to figure out the feelings that I was experiencing. I began to cry – profusely – and I couldn’t stop. I went to the alter and prayed that morning. Maybe that’s when you could say that I was “saved” but it wasn’t until many years later that I straightened up my act.

I wasn’t a bad person, persay. I just didn’t always make the wisest choices. We’re all sinners, whether you can admit it or not. No one is perfect therefore, in my eyes, no one should be able to judge another’s actions.

You see, something changed in me that day.  At 16 years old, I can remember feeling what I now know as the Holy Spirit, coming into my heart. It was surreal. It was wonderful. But let me tell you, it was scary!

I think back about it today and you know what? I’m now 38 and, until just a couple years ago, I couldn’t tell you when the moment was that God showed himself to me. It was that day back when I was 16, and here I am, just now understanding that is what it was.

Regardless of your age or your circumstances, God will come into your life if you allow Him to. It doesn’t matter if you’re 5 or 75, you just have to be open enough to let Him in. Once He’s in your heart, He’ll stay there for good. And you know what? He’s a forgiver.

You know how I know that? Because I believe with my whole heart that he sent Jesus here to die for our sins so that we might be saved from the sins that He knew ahead of time we would commit.

It isn’t by accident that you are here. God wanted you to read this. He wanted you to know that He doesn’t expect you to be perfect. He doesn’t look at your flaws or focus on your past, but sees you right where you are for exactly who you are.

You just have to decide if you want to go where He’s leading. Do you want to amazing life He’s prepared for you? Are you willing to give up all control and give it to God? I guarantee you that as soon as you do, you will experience a feeling like no others.

There’s one more thing about my relationship with God that not many people know. From a young age, God has given me the ability to see things in people that others don’t see. I see good, I literally feel the bad and often times he puts me in situations where both good and bad can come together to make great.

Over time, with age, wisdom and continual direction, God has given me an ability to share with others the words they need to hear. I didn’t ask for it at first, but now, since I know it’s working in their lives, I crave it! When someone tells me, “What you said is exactly what I needed to hear.” Or, “Your words really helped me.” I instantly want more!  It isn’t me at all that has the words, it is God and I’m just His vessel.

He guides me to do things, and I listen…most of the time!

It’s crazy how things come together when we’re obedient to His direction.  He has plans for us all and a purpose for our lives.  And you know what? It’s often more simplistic than we ever could have imagined.

Thanks for reading my story and thanks for being you. I hope that you’ll decide to let God into your heart today. I PROMISE that you will be forever changed!!

Praying for you today with love,

Amy 🙂
